When you call Poison Control, please be aware that there is an incident charge which will need to be billed to a credit card. Make sure to have the following information available when calling: your pet’s approximate weight, what was ingested (brand and strength), how much could have been ingested (at most), and any symptoms you may be witnessing.

This service is associated with the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and it is free of charge. The operators answering the phone lines have access to on-call veterinary toxicologists, meaning that there may be a delay in speaking with a toxicologist. The hotline is staffed from 8am-5pm (Central Time Zone) Monday through Friday.
